Before ordering a new or remanufactured sterndrive you need to know exactly what drive you need. Most drives will have a serial number stamped into the side or rear decal. Having the serial number usually allows the customer to look up exactly what drive he needs; however, it is possible that someone has changed a gear set and altered the original ratio. Click HERE to look up a new drive unit using your serial number, model or year. Click HERE to look up a factory remanufactured drive unit using your serial number, model or year. Please note: Prices are subject to change. Core fees not included. Prices are for in-stock units only. Special order drives may be more. The exciting Bravo Three has added a new dimension to single engine propulsion. Its counter-rotating twin propellers eliminate boat tilting and steering "pull". Bravo Three powered vessels tend to track a course much straighter, plane faster, steer easier, and even dock much more precisely. The Bravo Three requires two special Stainless Steel Bravo Three Props. Prices are subject to change. We make an honest effort to keep these on-line prices accurate and up-to-date but prices do change from time to time. Also, product changes may change the unit part number and price.
NOTE: Prices are subject to change. Mercruiser has increased prices and the price you see here might not be accurate. Bravo Drives cannot be shipped via UPS. We suggest ground trucking or DHL. Do NOT use exhaust bellows with the Bravo Three. The Bravo Three does not have large enough passages through the lower case to pass all the exhaust properly. Install an exhaust "cuff" in place of the external exhaust bellows. Note: The diesel Bravo Sterndrives are a little more because of the construction of the upper gear set. All new Bravos will have the remote oil reservoir fitting. High Performance Bravo's have low water pick-ups but the Bravo Three does NOT have a low water pick-up option. We do not recommend High Performance Bravo Ones for use in shallow, muddy or sandy running conditions. New Bravo Ones include rear tilt pin kits. Remanufactured units are very limited and availability will change. Please note. We get a lot of calls asking if the Bravo can replace the Alpha Drive. YES and NO. The Bravo will NOT fit directly onto an Alpha One gimbal housing assembly. If you want to convert to a Bravo, you will need to replace the entire gimbal housing assembly. You may also need to get a different prop, exhaust pipe, belt driven water pump kit and a few other odds and ends. Switching to a Bravo can be an expensive conversion and it really doesn't make sense unless you have a big block engine or over 350 horse power. The Bravo One will weigh more than the Alpha One and the housing is a little larger which will apply more drag in the water. Most small block customers should simply save some money and stick with the Alpha One. For high horsepower applications, consider the new Bravo XZ and XR Sterndrives. They are really the only "true" high horsepower Bravo design. The Bravo Three drive is not recommended for speeds above 70MPH as it does tend to "shimmy" due to the fact there is no constant side torque. Sterndrives.com also has Alpha One, Alpha Generation II, Bravo 1 and Bravo 2 Sterndrives too. |
